Vassar Experimental Garden (VEG)

Located in the Townhouse Circle, the Vassar Experimental Garden, lovingly known as VEG, is Vassar’s half acre organic student run garden.

Started as a partnership with the Office of Residential Life 5 years ago, VEG has grown over the years to include a pear tree, a compost program, an herb garden, a community bench and fire pit, an arbor and raised-beds.

2-3 paid student garden managers are selected each year provide leadership for VEG and organize programming. Anyone and everyone is welcome to enjoy the space, to pick ripe produce or herbs for their own personal use and/or help with weeding and chores.

There are community work days on Sunday afternoons from 1 to 4pm and a much looked forward to harvest dinner each fall!
